We have partnered with NUBIA HOUSE CULTURAL EDUCATION, a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) organization with Federal ID # 26-1117531, that provides resources and skills for thriving with a concentration on survivors of domestic violence. All contributions are tax-deductible and contribute to our common missions of supporting marginalized communities through joy.

Our last Literary Therapy writing series reached over 350 people.

Over four weeks, we used writing, mindfulness and personal exploration, and group discussion to explore joy, grief, pleasure, and growth with people from over 30 states and 12 countries.

  • Offer year-round Literary Therapy writing workshops

    • (quarterly cohorts + biweekly community sessions)

  • Print + distribute Literary Therapy Exploration Workbooks

  • Sewing-for-profit workshops for domestic violence survivors

  • Offer FREE monthly Mental Health First Aid + Youth Mental Health First Aid trainings

  • Offer CPR and NARCAN trainings for responding to opioid overdoses and health challenges

  • Provide year-round virtual support groups (AM + PM sessions for grief + loss, caregivers, etc.)

  • Host virtual community cook-alongs

  • Pay contributing writers, facilitators, and joy-makers to produce joy-flavored stories, campaigns, resources, and events

  • …and more.

“Literary Therapy: Caregiving, Shame, Self-Love, and Recovery” is an interactive four-part experience harnessing the cathartic power of writing and vulnerability to center joy, foster connection, and cultivate tools and strategies to cope and thrive during this raggedy moment in history.

We’ll use mindfulness activities, creative writing, and group discussion in a safe + supportive community to navigate emotions connected to pouring into ourselves and others.
