About GetSomeJoy

…cause we been out here.

GetSomeJoy is a creative wellness agency that collaborates with companies, schools, and communities on joy-infused experiences, trainings, and resources. Our offerings support mental health, foster connection, and center joy. And we bring snacks and fried chicken stickers.

Their multimedia grief and loss resource, griefKit: Crowdsourced tools and considerations for raggedy times has articles, books, communities, recipes, poems, reflections, resources, podcasts and more for navigating all kinds of devastating loss and transitions. You can download it and browse it by section at getsomejoy.com/griefkit.

Founded in 2017 by Alexander Hardy, Enesha Stringer, and Mario Starks, GetSomeJoy offers joy-infused programming and resources that includes monthly Community Mental Health Check-Ins, grief and loss resources + workshops, Mental Health First Aid trainings, Community Wellness Forums, the Joy Report newsletter, and their flagship service, the Literary Therapy Writing Program.

GetSomeJoy’s Literary Therapy Writing Program has five interactive components (Workshops, Exploration Workbooks, Community Literary Therapy Wall, a Virtual Wall, and Writing Circles) and a supportive trauma-informed framework that have helped over 3000 open-minded folks in schools, districts, conferences, companies, classrooms and beyond use writing, joy, and creative collaboration to process complex emotions and cultivate sustainable strategies and tools for thriving.

We cultivate space where folks feel safe going deep, unburdening, and writing or sharing their way to clarity.

In the past, we’ve helped spread joy and deliver mental health trainings in collaboration with Twitter, Juilliard, National Council for Mental Wellbeing, Empire BlueCross BlueShield, Dow, Oakland Public Library, National Urban League, Oakland Black Pride, Dominican Writers Association, Kate Spade York Foundation, and more.
